1981: Canadian Figure Skating Championships, long program

This may have been the year that I got my two-and-a-half decade head start on the rudimentary forward outside spin that you see in this program that has since spawned many proud variations on my part.

That triple flip and double axel to finish the program were sighs of relief in a program riddled with errors. Poor underlying technique manifested itself in careless mistakes. I am embarrassed by my stroking technique. Notice that my arms bounce and wave randomly while I make my way around the ice. I had no notion of core stability at that time.
